When I was in second grade my mom took me to audition for the Missoula Traveling Children’s Theatre company show "Jack and the Beanstalk". I was cast as the Ballerina. Now before you think into everything too far it is important to point out that no, a ballerina is not in the original story. I was specially added to the cast for, what I'm sure was, a bold audition. That little taste of the entertainment was all it took. I knew, even at the ripe age of 7, that I wanted to perform.
A humble
Minnesota native. My family and I moved to Texas early but would
spend every summer back home. Growing up
in Lubbock, Texas didn't exactly provide a mecca for the arts. I
started making movies in my
best friends backyard. Our rendition of Romeo and Juliet with the
West Texas wind sweeping in
between the star-crossed lovers cries was riveting. As a teen, my
time was split between
Community Theatre and playing the trumpet in Concert and Marching
Band. Escaping to the movies and
traveling with my family were my favorite
things.
I went to South
Plains College in Levelland before continuing my studies at Texas
Tech University where my craft was challenged, sharpened and
nurtured. I was involved a number of advanced scene
studies, student directed
projects and stage shows. A highlight performance was from "Love of
the Nightingale"
where my characters tongue was cut out. Seeing the faces of horror
in the girls dormitory
bathroom after spitting out the cherry flavored capsule remnants in
the sink made my education
priceless.
During the
summers I took workshops at the Guthrie Theatre in Minnesota. My
sophomore year I was accepted into the Disney College Program in
Orlando Florida, a paid internship where I gained life experience,
the greatest of friendships and the courage to think big about what
I could accomplish in life. After I graduated with my Bachelors in
Theatre and Minor in Business, I headed to California to... work
at Disneyland as a
photographer. As much as I enjoyed my time there I knew I was
destined to move a little further
up the road.
2015 marks my
fifth year in Los Angeles. The transition to film has been a very
exciting one, all about fine tuning my
toolbox. I have appeared in a number of very well produced student
and short films, some of which
are awaiting spots in festivals both nationally and
internationally. I find acting to be a rewarding, greatly
satisfying and incredibly personal craft. Its
addictive and magic in my life.
Other free time is spent with my wonderfully supportive
Musician/Actor boyfriend Myke traveling and shooting pictures of
couples all around the world. Our company Myke & Teri
Photography was offically founded in 2014 and continues to grow.
Our weekdends are spent all around California and beyond shooting
weddings. Other interests include water
coloring, vegan cooking and cardio barre.
My friends and family mean the world to me. Including my sweetheart puppy, Indiana Jones.
